Here are some of the Elementary Teaching scholarships on our site for which you may qualify.
Kerry McQueen Scholarship
Preference to freshmen students majoring in Teacher Education, Economics or Agriculture.
Larry and Sarah Bowman Scholarship
Preference for Elementary Education majors with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
Marguerite Eckles Mann Education Scholarship
Recipients must be majoring in elementary teacher education, and have a 2.5 minimum GPA.
Mary P. Schmidt Scholarship
Recipient to be an Education major with first preference given to Elementary Education.
Mearle and Dorothy Hoover Scholarship
Recipient should be FHSU junior in a teaching field of study, carry a minimum 3.0 GPA and be a Kansas resident. Scholarship is renewable for recipient's senior year at FHSU, if criteria is met.
Oliver and Emma C. Knowles James Family Memorial Scholarship
Recipients must have a 3.0 GPA, be majoring in Teacher Education and have been admitted into the FHSU Teacher Education Program in the College of Education.
Ralph 'Red' Huffman Family Memorial Scholarship
Preference to students majoring in Elementary Education, Music and Technology Studies. Must be a sophomore, junior or senior.
Ruth Crawford Glasgow Memorial Scholarship
Recipients must be full time, have a desire to become a teacher in the public schools, qualify to enter the graduate program and show financial need.
Teacher Education - Academic Opportunity Award
In addition to completing the scholarship application, applicants should include, under the work experience and activities sections of the application, any experiences that have involved working with children and/or youth (i.e. teaching Sunday school, helping with scouting programs). Other education scholarships are awarded to students who wish to teach in the following areas: elementary, middle, and secondary education. These awards are for incoming freshmen only.
Terry J. Knoll Memorial Scholarship
Must be classified as a junior or senior with a declared major in Elementary or Secondary Education and a resident of Kansas. GPA is not a factor in awarding this scholarship. Must be engaged in activities that demonstrate an interest in working with children. Financial need may be considered.
Valis and Freda Rockwell Scholarship Fund
Recipients must be from western Kansas with priority given to sophomores, juniors and seniors majoring in one of the fields of education. Also must show financial need and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Scholarships will be a minimum of $500.
Victor and Leona Murphy Scholarship
Recipients will be Kansas students pursuing a degree in Teacher Education.
