Education Scholarships
Here are some of the Education scholarships on our site for which you may qualify.
John H. Locke Memorial Scholarship
Recipient must be a senior majoring in Education with a GPA of 2.0 or higher and be from Osborne, Rooks or Ellis counties in Kansas.
Katharine Ninia Smith Scholarship
Preference to students majoring in Special Education.
Leadership Studies Departmental Scholarship
Scholarships are awarded to students majoring in Organizational Leadership. Students' scholarship and leadership activities are considered.
Lucile Wright Memorial Scholarship
Preference to Education majors who are outstanding academic students in need of financial assistance.
Lulu James Scholarship
Applicants must be Special Education majors.
Mearle and Dorothy Hoover Scholarship
Recipient should be FHSU junior in a teaching field of study, carry a minimum 3.0 GPA and be a Kansas resident. Scholarship is renewable for recipient's senior year at FHSU, if criteria is met.
Oliver and Emma C. Knowles James Family Memorial Scholarship
Recipients must have a 3.0 GPA, be majoring in Teacher Education and have been admitted into the FHSU Teacher Education Program in the College of Education.
Pauline Huxman and Duane Murphy Endowed Scholarship
Applicants must be upper division or graduate certification returning students who live west of Highway 81. First preference will be given to students majoring in Special Education, Communication Disorders or Education with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Preference also will be given to students who indicate that they are going into the teaching profession within the state of Kansas.
Ruth Sevy Scholarship
For students from Kansas, majoring in Education with a focus on service to handicapped, disabled and special needs children.
Special Education Scholarship
Available to graduate students majoring in Special Education.
Teacher Education - Academic Opportunity Award
In addition to completing the scholarship application, applicants should include, under the work experience and activities sections of the application, any experiences that have involved working with children and/or youth (i.e. teaching Sunday school, helping with scouting programs). Other education scholarships are awarded to students who wish to teach in the following areas: elementary, middle, and secondary education. These awards are for incoming freshmen only.
Valis and Freda Rockwell Scholarship Fund
Recipients must be from western Kansas with priority given to sophomores, juniors and seniors majoring in one of the fields of education. Also must show financial need and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Scholarships will be a minimum of $500.
