Education Scholarships

Here are some of the Education scholarships on our site for which you may qualify.

Josephine Nipper Memorial Scholarship

Each year, the scholarship is awarded to a Native American who is a first-generation college student, who is studying education or nursing, and who has a strong desire to give back to Native communities

Brown Foundation Scholarship Program for Educational Equality and Excellence

Applicants must meet the following criteria: * Recipients must be enrolled at least half-time as defined by the higher education institution of attendance. * Applicant must be enrolled at an institution of higher education with an accredited teacher education program. * Applicant must have been admitted to a teacher education program. * Applicant must have a grade point average at 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale or equivalent (i.e. 4.0 on a 5.0 scale). * Applicant must submit two references; one from a faculty member or other college/university official and one from a person familiar with the applicant's skills and abilities who is not a family member. Recommendations should take into account leadership, attitude, maturity, initiative, persistence, reliability, and communication skills. Indicate how many years known.

Connecticut Education Association Minority Scholarships

Selection Criteria: * Entering or enrolled in a four-year Connecticut college or university * U.S. citizen * Teaching major * Minority student * Academic excellence, 2.75 GPA * Financial need * Acceptance letter from college for high school graduate; letter from college professional program for college student.

Mental Health Education Scholarship

Vantage Point Recovery is offering our annual General Education and Mental Health Education Scholarship! We are dedicated to helping to support education specific to mental health. Any student currently enrolled in an accredited college is considered eligible.

Kathy McMahon Adams Scholarship

Amount: $1000 college scholarshipsDescription: The Kathy McMahon Adams Fund provides college scholarships to graduates of Ascension School in Oak Park, or parishioners of Ascension Church. Special consideration is given students considering the teaching profession.Eligibility: Open to graduates of Ascension School or Ascension Church parishioners. (teaching focus receives extra consideration)

Jean Kershaw Scholarship

The Jean Kershaw Scholarship was established to honor the memory of Jean Kershaw, a long-time OEA employee who died in the fall of 1985, after having served as secretary to 11 OEA presidents.The $2,000 scholarship is presented each year to1. a sophomore, junior, or fourth-year student in a five-year program in an approved teacher education program at an accredited Ohio college or university, OR2. must be a senior in an approved teacher education program at an Ohio college or university who has been formally accepted for graduate study in a master's degree of education program at an accredited Ohio college or university.All applicants must be current members of the Ohio Student Education Association and the NEA-Student Program. Applicants need to demonstrate success in their teacher education program, and provide evidence of financial need. Current members of the OEA Board of Directors are not eligible for this scholarship.

Alta T. and Daniel B. Straley Scholarship

Special Qualifications: • Applicant must plan to pursue a career in education/teaching • Scholastic ability, and financial need is also requirements for this scholarship.Requirements:# Transcripts# ACT or SATRenewable: YesRenewal Criteria: GPA of 2.5+

Barbara Habstritt Scholarship

Special Qualifications: • Applicant must be a graduating HS Senior from Oshkosh West • Pursuing a career in education/teaching • Applicant must be attending any Wisconsin University or CollegeRequirements:# Transcripts# ACT or SATNot renewable.

Brent Vroman Scholarship of Honor

Special Qualifications: • Recipient must be entering the military or a career in public service (education, firefighter, police officer, nursing, etc.).Other Requirements: • Recipient will also receive a scholarship medal of honor.

Irving L. Adler Scholarship

The Irving L. Adler Scholarship was established in 2007 as an 80th birthday present by friends, family and business associates of Mr. Adler. He is a founder of Adler, Blanchard and Freeman, LLP and a longtime member of Spring Valley Country Club. He had been a Ouimet Society member for many years and is the father of Scott Adler, Ouimet Fund Treasurer. The Adler Scholarship is for a Ouimet Scholar preparing for a career in education or nursing.To be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must have completed at least two years service to golf as caddies, helpers in the pro shop, or course superintendent operations at a club in Massachusetts. The awards are "need-based" and assist with tuition at accredited undergraduate institutions.

Ellen Hines Scholarship

The Ellen Hines Scholarship was created from proceeds of the 2007 Ouimet Annual Banquet at the request of Banquet honorees Barbara and Jack Nicklaus, who were long time friends of Ellen and John Hines. Mrs. Hines died of cancer in 2005. She was a Fontbonne Academy and Regis College graduate and former St. Patrick’s of Natick grade school teacher. She lived for many years in the Columbus, Ohio and Jupiter, Florida areas. She and her husband John are both Boston natives.Mrs. Hines was a fine golfer and lover of the game, family and travel and was a member of Woods Hole Golf Club for 35 years. The Scholarship is for an Ouimet Scholar who is studying for a career in education.To be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must have completed at least two years service to golf as caddies, helpers in the pro shop, or course superintendent operations at a club in Massachusetts. Thomas G. Labrecque Smart Start Scholarship Prgm

All residents of New York City who attend high schools in New York City's five boroughs are eligible. Students must plan to attend college in the fall immediately following graduation. Students must apply and be accepted to one of the ten colleges associated with Chase Smart Start Scholarship Program. Students in the program must major in one of the following fields of study: business, communications, education, engineering, liberal arts, social science or technology. Legal dependents of Chase employees are not eligible for the Smart Start Program, but continue to be eligible for Chase's scholarships for employee's children.
