Hospitality Majors Scholarship

Eligibility Criteria:•Must be of Hispanic background•Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident residing in the United States or Puerto Rico•Must be studying at an accredited university in the U.S. or Puerto Rico for the upcoming academic year•Must be (or plan to be) enrolled full-time as an undergraduate student for the upcoming academic year•Must have earned and maintain a cumulative Grade Point Average of no less than 3.0 on a 4.0 scale•Must be studying a major that falls under the Hospitality Majors Application

Marriott Scholars Program

Eligibility Criteria:•Be of Hispanic/Latino heritage•Be U.S. citizen or permanent resident residing in the United States or Puerto Rico•Be an upcoming freshman or sophomore for the school year•Plan to enroll as a full-time undergraduate student during the school year in a hospitality management or culinary program.•Plan to pursue a degree within the hospitality management, hotel management, culinary, or food beverage field.•Have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale.

NEWH Las Vegas Chapter Scholarship

Qualifications:  Must be a currently enrolled student attending an accredited college  Must have completed half the requirements for a degree or certification in the program you are currently enrolled  Must show financial need and have eligible outstanding debt for tuition, books or supplies at time of scholarship award  Must have a 3.0 GPA  Must have a career objective in one of the areas of the Hospitality Industry (i.e., Hotel/Restaurant Management, Culinary/Foodservice, Architecture, Interior Design, etc.) Please attach the following:  Student essay, to include: o Background of yourself and your experience o Your goals and objectives after graduation o What prompted you to choose this career o Do you feel you made a contribution to your school program or fellow students through leadership or participation o Why is obtaining this scholarship important to you o If your application is not accepted, what plans do you have for financing  Official Transcript  Letters of recommendation from Professor, advisor and/or department head  Letters from industry professionals, employers, etc. Submit all items by mail to: Karen Licea 4022 Dean Martin Drive Las Vegas, NV 89103 (P): 702.883.1383 (E): [email protected]  

NRAEF Academic Scholarship for Undergraduate Students

STEP #1: Make sure you are qualified for this scholarship. Please read through the qualifications below. If you don’t meet ALL of these qualifications you are not eligible to apply.To be eligible to apply, you must:· Be a citizen or permanent resident* of the United States of America· Be a college student currently enrolled full-time or substantial part-time (minimum of 9 credit hours) in a foodservice related program at an accredited culinary school, college, or university· Have completed at least one grading term of your college or post-secondary program· Be enrolled for two consecutive terms or not entering your last semester before graduatingSTEP #2: Complete the required essays for the Academic Scholarship for Undergraduate Students.The two essays are required as part of the scholarship application packet and must be submitted with your printed and signed application form and other required documents as outlined in these instructions. Essays must be typed and double-spaced. Please put your name at the top of each page of your essays. Al Schuman Ecolab Undergraduate Entrepreneurial Scholarship

The National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF) and the Al Schuman Ecolab Undergraduate Entrepreneurial Scholarship Fund awards scholarships ranging from $3,500 to $7,500 to college students who are enrolled in a foodservice related program at a select set of colleges.This scholarship is targeted toward students who demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit through a written essay. Chosenrecipients must be highly ambitious, dedicated, innovative, and creative. The recipients must not only have a vision butthe skills and plans to realize their vision.To be eligible to apply, you must:· Be a citizen or permanent resident* of the United States of America· Be accepted or enrolled in one of the following colleges (see linked colleges field)· Have completed at least one grading term of your college or post-secondary program· Be enrolled for two consecutive terms or not entering your last semester before graduating· Have a minimum grade point average (GPA) or 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent) OR a GED average standard score of 470 or higher.This essay is required as part of the scholarship application packet and must be submitted with your printed and signed application form and other required documents as outlined in the instructions. Describe either a past entrepreneurial project of any type or a future restaurant/foodservice related entrepreneurial project, such as starting a new restaurant, developing a new product or menu.2. Gruppo Ristoratori Italiani/Giacomo Bologna Scholarship

STEP #1: Make sure you are qualified for this scholarship. Please read through the qualifications below. If you don’t meet ALL of these qualifications you are not eligible to apply.To be eligible to apply, you must:· Be a citizen or permanent resident* of the United States of America· Be an undergraduate student who is currently enrolled full-time in an accredited culinary school, college, or university· Demonstrate a commitment to Italian Viticulture· Have at least two years of culinary experience and/or viticulture training, working directly with a chef in the preparationof food or with a sommelier. This experience must be supported by two letters of recommendation by culinary professional who can attest to your talent, interest and experience.STEP #2: Complete the required essay for the Gruppo Ristoratori Italiani/Giacomo Bologna ScholarshipThis essay is required as part of the scholarship application packet and must be submitted with your printed and signed application and other required documents as outlined in these instructions. Les Dames d'Escoffier

3 ScholarshipsCulinary Arts Program: $2,500Culinary Management Program: $1,500pastry & baking Arts Program: $2,500Les Dames d' Escoffier is a society of professional women involved in food, wine and arts of the table. The purpose of the organization is to support and promote the understanding, appreciation and knowledge of food among its members and others who share their objectives worldwide. To this end, they are committed to honoring the best female students in the culinary field and to advancing them in their careers. To qualify send your resume, official transcript, three letters of recommendation and an essay: how you plan to apply yourself in the culinary arts or culinary management. Applicants must be female, reside in the New York chapter's 50-mile radius of NYC, and be accepted or in the process of applying to culinary school for either program.

College Entrance Scholarship

Peter Kump Memorial Scholarship

Peter Kump was an educator and entrepreneur with a great love of food, whose interests ranged from theater, to speed reading, to the culinary arts. He founded Peter Kump's New York Cooking School in his New York apartment in 1975, inaugurated his professional program in 1983, and in 1986—at the urging of Julia Child—established the James Beard Foundation. Kump himself had learned from the best, and this scholarship commemorates the inspiring culinary legacy that he created.Applicants must: * Be a high school senior with a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 scale * Be planning to enroll at a licensed or accredited culinary school * Have a minimum of one year of experience in the culinary field and substantiate * Demonstrate financial need

NRAEF ProStart® National Certificate of Achievement Scholarship

STEP #1: Make sure you are qualified for this scholarship. Please read through the qualifications below. If you don’t meet ALL of these qualifications you are not eligible to apply. To be eligible to apply, you must: · Be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States of America · Be a graduating high school senior · Have earned a ProStart National Certificate of Achievement. Plan to attend full-time or substantial part-time (minimum of 9 credit hours) in a foodservice related program at an accredited culinary school, college, or university STEP #2: Complete the required case study for the ProStart National Certificate of Achievement Scholarship. This case study is required as part of the scholarship application packet and must be submitted with your printed and signed application and other required documents as outlined in these instructions. Please put your name on the top of each page of the case study. The case study must be between 250 - 500 words, typed and double spaced. Case Study: You are applying for a job in your favorite area of foodservice or the restaurant industry. Write a cover letter to apply for this job. Your cover letter should be written in business letter format. Use your current qualifications, background, and experience. Your cover letter should include the following information. 1. The position you are applying for and what kind of company/restaurant (if it is fine dining, etc). 2. Briefly explain why you are interested in the position. 3. Describe your current qualifications, background, and experience. Provide examples of your skills and training. 4. Discuss what qualities you can bring to the company/restaurant and how your skills will fit the requirements of the position and will benefit the employer. 5. NRAEF Academic Scholarship for High School Seniors and General Education Diploma (GED) Graduates

This scholarship is for students who will be first-time freshmen including graduating high school seniors, GED graduates and high school graduates enrolling in college for the first time. To be eligible to apply, you must: · Be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States of America · Be a first time freshman. This includes: Graduating high school seniors GED graduates enrolling in college for the first time. High school graduates enrolling in college for the first time. · Be accepted and plan to enroll in an accredited culinary school, college or university. You must: Enroll as a full-time or substantial part-time student taking a minimum of 9 credit hours each term. Major in culinary, restaurant management, or other food service related major. Plan to remain in school for at least two consecutive terms.
