Aviation Scholarships

Here are some of the Aviation scholarships on our site for which you may qualify.

Olin E. Teague Scholarship

The National Space Club offers a scholarship each year in memory of the Honorable Olin E. Teague, a Representative in Congress who aggressively supported our national space program, to encourage talented young people to pursue careers in aerospace fields. The scholarship, in the amount of $4,000.00, is awarded to a graduating high school senior at an accredited U.S. high school. The student must be a U.S. Citizen. This scholarship program is intended to encourage talented young people to pursue careers in aerospace fields.

National Space Club Keynote Scholarship

Conditions of Eligibility The applicant must be a U.S. citizen. The scholarship is open to seniors in high school through graduate students. The applicant must have the intention of pursuing a career in the STEM fields and plan to attend an accredited U.S. college or university to follow a course of study to pursue a career in the STEM field, with a preference for those with space related interests. The applicant can only use the $10,000.00 scholarship towards tuition for the next academic year. The applicant must not have previously spoken at the Robert H. Goddard Memorial Dinner. The applicant may apply for any of the scholarships offered by the National Space Club (Robert H. Goddard Memorial Scholarship, Olin E Teague Scholarship, Keynote Scholarship) in the same year, but may only win one in the same year.

Aviation Scholarship

The scholarship is awarded to seacoast area senior high school students who will attend two- or four-year colleges and plan to pursue aviation studies. Awards are not need based but recipient must demonstrate serious intent through current fields of study and/or related volunteer or extracurricular activities such as internships, club memberships, RC models, Air Explorers, Civil Air Patrol, etc. To qualify, applicants must be senior high school students from New Hampshire, northeastern Massachusetts or the Maine seacoast. Students must be scheduled to attend a two- or four-year college or university full-time pursuing aviation-related studies.

Clay lacy Professional Pilot Scholarship

This scholarship provides highly qualified potential flight students with financial need the opportunity to attend a professional pilot program and participate in flight by living on the EAA Air Academy campus. A possible four scholarships are awarded of up to $12,500 each.

Clay Lacy Professional Pilot Scholarship Program

The Clay Lacy Professional Pilot Scholarship Program was established by famed aviator Clay Lacy, through an agreement with EAA, to provide a unique opportunity for students to prepare for an aviation career with a quality education. It provides up to four highly-qualified flight students the opportunity to attend a professional pilot program at the University of North Dakota’s John D. Odegard School of Aerospace Sciences. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to earn a college degree as a professional pilot and obtain commercial, instrument, multi-engine and all fixed-wing flight instructor ratings. Participants will also live on the EAA Air Academy campus and support EAA programs, activities and events. This scholarship offering provides for an inclusion of a substantial portion of flight-related fees within each total award of up to $12,500 per year per scholarship. Special considerations: Applicants must apply for this scholarship through the UND Odegard School of Aerospace Science. Recipients must attend UND; meet FAA criteria for licensure; must have a private pilot's certificate; and must demonstrate financial need. Clay Lacy Professional Pilot Scholarship

This scholarship provides highly qualified potential flight students with financial need the opportunity to attend a professional pilot program and participate in flight by living on the EAA Air Academy campus. A possible four scholarships are awarded of up to $12,500 each.

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Majors Scholarships

Eligibility Criteria:•Must be of Hispanic background•Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident residing in the United States or Puerto Rico•Must be studying at an accredited university in the U.S. or Puerto Rico for the upcoming academic year•Must be (or plan to be) enrolled full-time as an undergraduate or graduate student for the upcoming academic year•Must have earned and maintain a cumulative Grade Point Average of no less than 3.0 on a 4.0 scale•Must demonstrate financial need•Must be studying a major that falls under the STEM Majors Application

Siegel / Service Technology Scholarships

Student Eligibility Requirements: * U.S. citizenship (not permanent resident). * College freshman at the time of application. * 3.0 better grade point average. * Montana resident. * Pursue an education at the participating colleges in Montana in the service technology fields of automotive, heavy truck, agriculture, aircraft, auto body repair & refinishing, off-highway equipment or related mobility technology. Terms of Scholarship:Six scholarships will be awarded each year for $1,000 per year.How to Apply: * Download the application and save it to your computer as a Word document. * Complete the application. All applications should be typed and submitted as a Word document or in .pdf format. * Request a recommendation letter from two of your instructors. Ask them to submit their completed forms to the Financial Aid Office by May 15. * Submit the following to your college Financial Aid Office by May 15: o Completed application o Official copy of your college transcript o Letters of recommendation from two instructors Selection and Announcement of Recipient: * Recipient will be selected by the individual universities and notified by the end of June. * Applicants not selected will be notified by the end of July. Payment of Scholarship Funds: * This scholarship will be paid into your account at your selected university in July/August. * It can be used for tuition or any other incidental school expenses. Terms for Renewal of Scholarship: * May be renewed for $1,000 per year for one additional year. * Must maintain a 2.5 grade point average. * Remain in good standing at the college or university. * Complete the Scholarship renewal form.

Clay Lacy Professional Pilot Internship

The Clay Lacy Professional Pilot Internship program provides highly qualified potential flight students with financial need the opportunity to: a) Attend a professional pilot program at the University of North Dakota, John D. Odegard School of Aerospace Sciences to pursue a college degree as a professional pilot and earn commercial, instrument, multi-engine and all fixed-wing flight instructor ratings; and, b) Participate in flight by living on the EAA Air Academy campus, supporting the many and varied EAA programs, activities and events. Up to four internships awarded annually of up to $12,500 each.

Russell T. MacFarlane Scholarship Program

Each year, a total of $5,000 in scholarship and internship awards is offered from the Russell MacFarlane Scholarship Program endowed funds. The number of young people receiving awards is dependent upon the annual determination of need as identified through the application process. Awards may be made for 1) EAA’s Air Academy Summer Camp attendance (scholarships may range from $500 to $1,000 dependent upon the youth’s individual requirements); and, 2) Air Academy Internships, a work/career opportunity working as an integral member of the summer Air Academy staff (awards generally range from $1,200 to $1,500).

Heather McRoberts Memorial Scholarship Fund

This annual $500 scholarship is awarded to support females up to 21 years of age to attend EAA’s Summer Air Academy. It is traditionally awarded to an outstanding applicant who participates in EAA’s “Women Soar You Soar” program during AirVenture each summer. The scholarship continues the legacy of Heather McRobert’s passion – promoting youth and women in aviation.

Cdr. John Paradiso Scholarship for Women in Aviation/Aerospace

The two daughters of Naval Commander John Paradiso, a WWII aviator, have established an endowed scholarship in their father’s name to benefit young women who have a sincere interest in pursuing their dreams of flight. One annual award of approximately $750.
