Automotive Industry Scholarships

Here are some of the Automotive Industry scholarships on our site for which you may qualify.

Univ. of Illinois at Chicago/SAE Engineering Schp

Applicants must be incoming freshmen who will be pursuing a degree in the UIC College of Engineering with an interest in the automotive engineering applications. Selection will be based on ACT scores, high school rank, application essay, outside activities and experiences. A minimum ACT composite score of 28 (SAT=1240) is required to apply. A maximum of two $4,000 scholarships will be awarded each at $1,000 per year renewable for four years. An annual GPA of 4.0/5.0 must be maintained. The scholarship awards reduce tuition and fees for an academic year to $4,180 for State of Illinois residents and below $10,650 for non-residents.

Future Mechanic Grant

Trade School Future is an organization dedicated to helping future mechanics reach their full potential. Our country needs skilled automotive workers and we want to help. Each semester, we’ll be awarding grants of various amounts to students who plan on attending a trade or vocational school with the aim of becoming a mechanic. This scholarship is open to any prospective student in the United States who plans to enroll in a trade or vocational school, 2 or 4 year university, accredited community college or other automotive higher education institution within the next 12 months. The applicant must complete a short essay (500 words or less) detailing why they are pursuing an automotive degree. The applicant must provide a phone number and email address for correspondence about the grant award selection process. The Future Mechanic Grant for the Fall/Winter Semester is a one-time financial gift of $1,000. The grant will be awarded to the applicant who best answers the application criteria, including the short essay. The award funds may be applied to any expenses associated with pursuing an automotive degree or certification. This is a one-time financial gift and does not need to be paid back to Trade School Future.

AMERICANMUSCLE SCHOLARSHIPS

» 4 scholarships for $2,000 each will be awarded to students pursuing an automotive major during the spring and fall semesters. Two scholarships will be awarded for the spring semester, followed by two more for the fall school semester OUR PROGRAM: We are offering 4 currently enrolled students or high school seniors who are pursuing post-secondary education during school year an opportunity to be awarded $2,000 in tuition assistance towards their upcoming semester! Those students who have exceptional drive and automotive ambitions should submit a 700-1500 word essay to [email protected] telling us who you are and how you plan on using your automotive education to change the custom car industry for the better. All entries must be submitted as a PDF or Microsoft Word document to be eligible for consideration and also must include proof of current college enrollment. WHO IS ELIGIBLE: Only students currently enrolled full-time in an American college, technical institute, or high school seniors planning to attend a college or post-secondary institution are eligible to be awarded a scholarship through this program. AmericanMuscle Student Scholarships are non-renewable, however, winning applicants may re-enter in future contests by writing and resubmitting a new essay. Only one essay per student, per semester is allowed. Scholarships are restricted to those students pursuing an automotive degree or related field of study. SEMA Memorial Scholarship Fund

The SEMA Memorial Scholarship Fund is dedicated to fostering the next generation of automotive aftermarket industry leaders and innovators. Financial assistance is available to college-level students who are pursuing career paths that support the automotive industry. Approximately 55 scholarship awards are distributed annually and range from $2,000-$3,000, with $5,000 going to the top student. The awards are distributed directly to the school financial aid office and are to be applied to the student's tuition, fees, books, supplies and equipment required for course load. Awards are not automatically renewable; recipients may re-apply each year.

South Dakota Association of Environmental Professionals Scholarship

The South Dakota Association of Environmental Professionals (SDAEP) Scholarship Program provides one  or more  scholarships annually to students with directed  studies relating  to the protection and enhancement of our natural resources, the environment, and other similar fields. Who is eligible for the SDAEP Scholarship? · Applicants should desire a career in a trade supportive to the protection and enhancement of our natural resources, environment, and/or related fields. · Students that are  intending  to  enroll  or are  already  enrolled  at  a  South Dakota  university, technical institution, or other post­secondary trade school. Applicants must intend to enroll for the fall semester. · High school seniors are eligible to apply. · Students that possess a Grade Point Average of 2.0 or greater · Part time studies will be considered if applicant can show good cause for other than full ­time studies and  that the  course  of study is directed  toward  a  degree,  certificate  or similar identification of graduation. · Students who have received an SDAEP scholarship in the past are eligible to apply each year. · Children and spouses of Scholarship Committee members are not eligible. What is considered a course of study that wil provide protection and enhancement of our natural resources and the environment? Related  fields include  but are  not limited  to  business administration, accounting, biology, chemistry, trucking, geology, hydrology, engineering, auto mechanics, computer  science, education, heating/ventilation/refrigeration, environmental sciences, engineering  technicians, government administration, agribusiness, energy technology, and more.

South Dakota Solid Waste Management Association Scholarship

Who is eligible for SDSWMA Scholarship? An applicant should desire a career in a trade supportive to the protection and enhancement of our natural resources and environment, the solid waste industry and/or related fields. Applicants must intend to enroll for the fall semester. Preference will be given to South Dakota residents intending to or enrolled at a South Dakota institution of higher learning, vocational school, or other post-secondary trade school. High school seniors are eligible to apply. Part-time studies will be considered if applicant can show good cause for other than full-time studies and that the course of study is directed toward a degree, certificate or similar identification of graduation. Students who have received an SDSWMA scholarship in the past are eligible to apply each year although preference will be given to new applicants. Children and spouses of Scholarship Committee members are not eligible. What is considered a course of study that will provide protection and enhancement of our natural resources and the environment or solid waste Industry? SDSWMA membership consists of a broad range of industries relating to and supporting the proper disposal, reuse, hauling, or recycling of solid waste. Related fields include but are not limited to business administration, accounting, biology, chemistry, trucking, geology, hydrology, engineering, auto mechanics, computer science, heating / ventilation / refrigeration, environmental sciences, engineering technicians, government administration, agribusiness, education, biohazard, energy technology, and more.

APWU Vocational Scholarship Program

The APWU National Executive Board established the Vocational Scholarship to help students interested in programs of study leading to trade, technical, industrial or vocational occupations that can include, for example: Culinary, Medical or Dental Assistant, Electrician, Real Estate, Auto Mechanic, Certified I/T‐Computer Education, Massage Therapy or Cosmetology. Five recipients from among the five postal regions will receive up to $3,000 to be used for up to three years of study in a specific trade, technical, industrial or vocational school. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS  A senior attending high school or other corresponding secondary school.     Child or grandchild, including stepchild or legally adopted child of an active member, Retirees Department member, or deceased member of the American Postal Workers Union.  Parent or grandparent must be a full dues paying member or retiree member [as defined in the APWU National   Constitution and Bylaws, reference Article 3, Section 1, Section 4(d)] in good standing or must have been a member immediately preceding death.  Recipients for the Vocational awards must attend an accredited community college, vocational school or   vocational program.      Must maintain [status report to be provided to APWU annually]: 1. “B” average, or 2. “Pass” if Pass/Fail system, or 3. An evaluation from the Counselor or Instructor   EXCLUSIONS  Children/grandchildren of all Elected National Officers.  Sponsor is currently a postal manager.     Scholarship will be discontinued if the sponsor becomes a postal manager.  Applicants from other Postal Unions (NALC, NRLCA, NMPHU)

Peter L. Picknelly Honorary Scholarship

Scholarship Details 1 Scholarship, open to ABA Members at $2,500 This fund is established to recognize the contribution of bus drivers, mechanics and maintenance personnel to the motorcoach industry. Eligible applicants are bus drivers or maintenance personnel, or their children, of ABA operator members. Candidates must be in a technical school or accredited learning institutions with two-year or more transportation-related education programs. Applicants to the fund must demonstrate a financial need, maintain a 3.0 Grade Point Average and effectively demonstrate their desire and ability, to participate successfully in a learning program as described above.
