Here are some of the Art scholarships on our site for which you may qualify.
Department of Art & Design Scholarship
Scholarships are available for upper division Art & Design majors but are limited in number depending upon funds available. Students applying for scholarships must: 1. Be Art & Design majors and have at least sophomore rank. 2. Have work selected for Annual Student Honors Exhibition held each spring. Scholarships are awarded by the juror of the exhibition.
Clyde M. McGeary Scholarship Fund
The Pennsylvania Art Education Association created this fund to honor the educational career of Clyde M. McGeary. The fund provides scholarships to aspiring art educators in Pennsylvania. Students are nominated by the Pennsylvania Art Education Association.
American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) Honolulu Chapter Scholarship Fund
The Jane Suganuma Memorial Scholarship Fund was created in 1987 by her friends and colleagues to honor Jane, an outstanding print production person in Honolulu. With additional assistance from the American Institute of Graphic Arts Honolulu Chapter this scholarship supports students who demonstrate a commitment to print production, especially those who will stay in Hawaii and share what they have learned.
Requirements:
Major in Graphic Design, Visual Communication or Commercial Arts.
Be a Hawaii resident.
Minimum 2.7 GPA.
Demonstrate financial need
Attend an accredited two or four year college or university as either an undergraduate or graduate student
Be a full-time student
Laheenae Rebecca Hart Gay Scholarship
Requirements: Major in Art. This scholarship is not for students studying video, film, performing arts or the culinary arts.
Richie Gregory Fund
Requirements: Major in Art.
HSF/McNamara Family Creative Arts Grant Project
Program Description:The HSF/ McNamara Family Foundation Creative Arts Project Grant is designed to provide financial resources to outstanding Latino undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in a creative arts related field: media, film, performing arts, communications, writing, etc. This grant is only intended to assist students in beginning and completing an art project. Students may be potentially eligible for grants up to $15,000. Eligibility Requirements: * Be of Hispanic heritage * Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 (not expired) * Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale * Be an undergraduate or graduate student enrolled full-time in a degree-seeking program at a U.S. accredited institution in the U.S., Puerto Rico, or U.S. Virgin Islands the upcoming academic year * Be majoring in the Arts, including but not limited to media, film, performing arts, communications or writing * Must apply for federal financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
Charles O. McGaughey Leadership Award
Eligibility: * Awarded to students with a B average or above. * Preference will be given to degree-seeking students in the College of Arts and Sciences or the Kelley School of Business. * Academic excellence and financial need are required.
Native Hawaiian Visual Arts Scholarship
Minimum GPA 3.2
Be a University of Hawai`i-Mänoa undergraduate or graduate student
Majoring in Art to pursue the area of Visual arts, including but not limited to, drawing, painting, printmaking, graphic design, fiber arts, sculpture, ceramics, digital art (computer), photography, and film-making/video production
Submit hard-copy photos of artistic works created (CDs and DVDs will not be accepted)
Applications are open to the general public. However, it is the policy of the Pauahi Foundation to give preference to applicants of Hawaiian ancestry to the extent permitted by law.
Art Awards
Basis: Departmental determination based upon slide samples of work (no portfolio, please). Submission: Apply to the University by Phase I, indicate on the application your interest in the award and include slide samples of your work. Renewal policy: Academic good standing with at least a 2.5 GPA and departmental review of work; major required.
Presidential Scholarships
Presidential Scholarships - $2,500 per year Basis: Recalculated grade point average of 3.5 or above with at least an 1100 SAT I or 23 composite ACT and above. Submission: No deadline. Awards are automatically determined by the Office of Admissions. Renewal policy: Academic good standing with at least a 3.0 GPA. 3.00 GPA for renewal of scholarship Major in 'Arts' and 'Science'
Florence Young Memorial Fellowship
The Association on American Indian Affairs offers one Florence Young Memorial Fellowship in the amount of $5,000 to a student pursuing a Masters in the Arts. Disbursement is made to the college during the fall semester only. This scholarship does not automatically renew. Students are eligible to apply on a yearly basis.
American Association of Japanese University Women Scholarship
The American Association of Japanese University Women (AAJUW) was founded to promote the education of women, as well as to contribute to U.S. - Japan relations, cultural exchanges, and development of leadership. Every year, since the founding of the organization, scholarships have been awarded to outstanding female students.
