Agriculture Production Scholarships

At Dairy Farmers of America, we believe it is important to invest in the next generation of leaders to ensure a bright future for the dairy industry. That is why we established the DFA Cares Foundation Scholarship Program. The Foundation awards scholarships to three categories of students: Incoming freshmen: High school seniors or recent graduates who have been accepted to college, but have not yet started classes Undergraduate students: Students who are currently participating in an associate’s or bachelor’s degree program, but have not yet graduated Graduate/professional students: Students enrolled in a graduate or professional degree program Scholarships are available to students pursuing a career in the dairy industry or a related field: Dairy herd management/production Large animal veterinary medicine Marketing/economics/finance Processing/manufacturing Communications/journalism Quality assurance Dairy nutrition Dairy foods Education Engineering Policy Genetics Law Others Criteria Must be enrolled in or applying for an accredited degree program during the next scholarship year Applicant’s commitment and passion for a career in the dairy industry, as demonstrated through responses to three essay questions Extracurricular activities, awards, recognition and work experience Academic achievement

The California Cotton Alliance is a non-profit foundation with a primary mission to provide funding for cotton research. Additionally, however, the Alliance wishes to support academic and scholarship initiatives throughout the state of California. The Alliance is providing five scholarships to students currently attending California institutions and pursuing an agriculture or related major. Preference will be giving to students originally from the state of California, but scholarships are not limited to that criteria. Eligibility Requirements All scholarships include leader development award to attend the AFA Leaders Conference (November of scholarship year in Kansas City, Mo.), of which full attendance is required to receive the full academic scholarship. (Dates of AFA Leaders Conference - see website) Academic scholarship may be used for tuition and fees only. This may include books if paid for through a university charge account. Students must be enrolled in, or enrolling in, an agriculture-related, four-year degree program. Students must be a citizen of the United States of America to be eligible for AFA scholarship awards. International students studying in the United States are not eligible Scholarship recipients will be selected on the basis of career vision and goal, leader and community involvement, and financial need. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Provides four AFA Leader and Academic Scholarships to female, Midwest agriculture students with a special interest in agriculture education . This scholarship provides a $3,200 academic tuition/fees scholarship, $1,000 registration fee for AFA Leaders Conference and the opportunity for the student to attend the BOTAR General Membership Meeting in January of her initial scholarship selection year. This scholarship is renewable up to three times if all scholarship requirements are fulfilled and at the discretion of the BOTAR committee. If a student receives this scholarship an additional three times, she will be asked to attend the BOTAR General Membership Meeting in her senior year as well, to share about her experiences. Students eligible to receive the AFA Leader and Academic Scholarship provided by BOTAR must: Be a female student pursuing a four-year degree in Agriculture Education or related field in the Midwest. Attend the BOTAR General Membership Meeting in January of her initial scholarship selection year. Meet all the AFA scholarship criteria and requirements listed above.

The Royal Scholars program is designed to provide an opportunity for outstanding college students to advocate the food and fiber industry, leadership and the American Royal. Royal Scholars will travel to Kansas City, Missouri, in the summer for training, Business and Scholarship Luncheon and again during the 116th American Royal to participate in School Tours, PRCA Rodeo, the American Royal Parade and Youth Leadership Day. In recognition of the outstanding achievements of the Royal Scholars and their continuing advocacy of the food and fiber industry, the American Royal Association will award a $2,500 scholarship to each student selected as a member of the Royal Scholars program.

Agriculture Future of America provides support to future leaders in agriculture from across the country through the AFA Leader and Academic Scholarship program. Scholarships seek to identify young leaders in the agriculture and food industry to enter AFA’s leader development program and receive an academic scholarship to support their academic education. AFA awards 40-50 National Leader and Academic Scholarships annually. AFA provides 30-35 AFA Leader and Academic Scholarships annually to graduating high school seniors or current college students , enrolling/enrolled in a agriculture-related, four-year degree program in the United States. These scholarships are supported by AFA Organizational Partners. Farm Plus Financial is now accepting applications for Agricultural Scholarship. The goal of this scholarship is to support young leaders who will go on to be the future of the agriculture and food industry. By providing a financial scholarship to these students, we hope to help educate the future generation. The Farm Plus Financial scholarship award recipients will receive a one time $1000 scholarship that can be used towards their education. To submit your application, you must be either a graduating high school senior or a current undergraduate student enrolled in an agriculture-related degree program. Scholarship recipients will be selected on the basis of career vision and goal, leader and community involvement, and financial need. Agriculture Scholarship Details Scholarships are available to students across the nation. The same application will be used for all scholarships offered by Farm Plus Financial. Farm Plus Financial scholarships are for undergraduate tuition only unless approved written consent is provided otherwise. Recipients may not be awarded more than one Farm Plus Financial scholarship per academic year. The California Farm Bureau Scholarship Foundation was organized to give aid to students with a desire to pursue a career in the agricultural industry. The scholarships are awarded annually based upon academic achievement, career goals, extracurricular activities, determination, leadership skills, and a commitment to study agriculture. Who is eligible? Any undergraduate student entering or attending a four-year accredited college or university in California and pursuing a career in the agricultural industry. Students entering or attending a junior college are not eligible. Students must be a resident of the State of California. How many scholarships are given, and in what amount? Each year, the Scholarship Foundation Board of Directors determine the award amounts depending on the funds available. In recent years, the range has been $1,800 to $2,750, for approximately 30 recipients each year.

First-year agricultural students at two-year colleges are invited to apply for 50 $750 scholarships from the CHS Foundation. Student eligibility: Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible for the scholarships. Incomplete applications will not be considered. * At the time of application the student will be in his or her first year of study at a two-year institution. The scholarship is intended for use during the second year of study. * Students will be studying an agricultural-related major * Students are only eligible to win the scholarship once * Applications must be completed.
