University Scholarship Program

Students currently studying agriculture at select universities around the nation may be eligible to apply for a CHS Foundation University Scholarship. Nearly 150 $1,000 scholarships are awarded annually. Student eligibility: Scholarship recipients are selected by the following criteria: * Students are working towards an agricultural-related degree to pursue a career in agribusiness or production agriculture * Students will be entering their sophomore, junior or senior year; students are eligible to receive the scholarship multiple years * First preference will be given to students with an interest in agricultural-based cooperatives; this may include, but not be limited to students who have: o Demonstrated interest through educational experiences focusing on cooperatives, which may include, but is not limited to international study tours, professional development, conferences, job shadowing, current membership/involvement with an agricultural cooperative o Interned, worked or plan to work for an agricultural-based cooperative o Taken a course covering cooperative business structure Please check the website for more information.

Thaddeus Colson and Isabelle Saalwaechter Fitzpatrick Memorial Scholarship Fund

Established by Isabelle F. Smith in 1999, in memory of her parents, to provide annual scholarships for female residents of Kentucky majoring in environmentally related programs at public universities in Kentucky. Scholarship is non-renewable. Earl K. Nau Ozark Empire Fair Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship Amount: One $1,000 scholarship Application Details: Contact Ozark Empire Fair, Livestock Director Residency Requirements: None School Requirements: Any accredited college, university or vocational/technical school Eligibility Requirements: 1. Must be of at least 15 years of age 2. Must have exhibited breeding beef cattle at the Ozark Empire Fair for at least two years 3. Participation in other livestock activities or awards received at the Ozark Empire Fair 4. Volunteer service at the Ozark Empire Fair 5. Short essay and letter of recommendation required 6. Achievements in agriculture 7. School activities

NDS / DMI Milk Marketing & Dairy Products Scholarship

(1st - $1,500; 2nd through 5th - $1,000) (Number of awards is dependent on number and quality of applicants). These scholarships are provided to encourage undergraduate sophomores and junior students to pursue careers in marketing of milk or dairy products. Major areas can include: Dairy or Agricultural Marketing, Dairy Product Development, Dairy Quality Control or Testing, Dairy Foods or Nutrition, and Food Product Science. Scholarships are based on leadership, experience, academic ability and interests in Milk Marketing or Dairy Products. Co-sponsored with Dairy Management Inc. Application Deadline is April 15

NDS Sophomore Merit Scholarship

(1st - $1,500; 2nd through 4th - $1,000) (Number of awards is dependent on number and quality of applicants). These scholarships are provided to encourage undergraduate sophomore students to pursue careers in the dairy industry. Major areas can include: Dairy Science, Agricultural Economics or Accounting, Dairy Genetics, Dairy Equipment, Dairy Nutrition, Dairy Feed or Pharmaceutical Marketing or Sales, Dairy Consultant, Dairy Extension or Dairy Researcher or Professor. Scholarships are based on leadership, activities, academic ability and interests in the dairy industry. Application Deadline is April 15

NDS Junior Merit Scholarship

(1st - $1,500; 2nd through 4th - $1,000) (Number of awards is dependent on number and quality of applicants). These scholarships are provided to encourage undergraduate junior students to pursue careers in the dairy industry. Major areas can include: Dairy Science, Agricultural Economics or Accounting, Dairy Genetics, Dairy Equipment, Dairy Nutrition, Dairy Feed or Pharmaceutical Marketing or Sales, Dairy Consultant, Dairy Extension or Dairy Researcher or Professor. Scholarships are based on leadership, activities, academic ability and interest in the dairy industry. Application Deadline is April 15

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Majors Scholarships

Eligibility Criteria:•Must be of Hispanic background•Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident residing in the United States or Puerto Rico•Must be studying at an accredited university in the U.S. or Puerto Rico for the upcoming academic year•Must be (or plan to be) enrolled full-time as an undergraduate or graduate student for the upcoming academic year•Must have earned and maintain a cumulative Grade Point Average of no less than 3.0 on a 4.0 scale•Must demonstrate financial need•Must be studying a major that falls under the STEM Majors Application

Siegel / Service Technology Scholarships

Student Eligibility Requirements: * U.S. citizenship (not permanent resident). * College freshman at the time of application. * 3.0 better grade point average. * Montana resident. * Pursue an education at the participating colleges in Montana in the service technology fields of automotive, heavy truck, agriculture, aircraft, auto body repair & refinishing, off-highway equipment or related mobility technology. Terms of Scholarship:Six scholarships will be awarded each year for $1,000 per year.How to Apply: * Download the application and save it to your computer as a Word document. * Complete the application. All applications should be typed and submitted as a Word document or in .pdf format. * Request a recommendation letter from two of your instructors. Ask them to submit their completed forms to the Financial Aid Office by May 15. * Submit the following to your college Financial Aid Office by May 15: o Completed application o Official copy of your college transcript o Letters of recommendation from two instructors Selection and Announcement of Recipient: * Recipient will be selected by the individual universities and notified by the end of June. * Applicants not selected will be notified by the end of July. Payment of Scholarship Funds: * This scholarship will be paid into your account at your selected university in July/August. * It can be used for tuition or any other incidental school expenses. Terms for Renewal of Scholarship: * May be renewed for $1,000 per year for one additional year. * Must maintain a 2.5 grade point average. * Remain in good standing at the college or university. * Complete the Scholarship renewal form.

ASEV Scholarship Program

The American Society for Enology and Viticulture annually awards numerous scholarships to students pursuing a degree in enology, viticulture, or in a curriculum emphasizing a science basic to the wine and grape industry. The awards are not in predetermined amounts and may vary from year to year. All scholarship recommendations made by the Scholarship Committee are subject to final approval by the Board of Directors. The Society does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, nationality, religion, gender, or physical/mental disabilities. The Society has no affiliation with the University of California or other institutions that may also offer scholarship programs. Previous applicants and recipients are eligible to reapply each year in open competition with new applicants. The ASEV reserves the right not to award scholarships at all in any given year. Eligibility: All of the following requirements must be met: 1. Undergraduate and graduate students must be enrolled in or accepted into a full-time accredited four year college or university program. They must reside in North America (Canada, Mexico or USA). Applicants should be a minimum of junior status for the upcoming academic year (45 semester units/60 quarter units). 2. Undergraduate students must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0. Graduate students must have a minimum overall grade point average of 3.2. These averages must be based on a scale maximum of 4.0. 3. Applicants must be enrolled in a major, or in a graduate group, emphasizing enology or viticulture, or in a curriculum emphasizing a science basic to the wine and grape industry. 4. Completed application packets must be received by March 1.

The Dick Laursen Memorial Scholarship

The Dick Laursen Memorial Scholarship was created in honor of Dick Laursen, a life-long irrigation specialist. Dick was born in 1942 into a Nebraska ranching/farming family. He began his career as a purchasing agent for a pivot manufacturer; then moving on to Rain Bird Ag before partnering to open SWISH, Inc., an irrigation company. With his partners, Dick spent the rest of his life building SWISH, until his death in 1998.TAIA will award scholarships based on the applicant’s qualifications. Scholarships will be available to registered, full-time students either entering college or continuing a college education. Graduate students are also eligible. A recommendation from a TAIA member would be beneficial but is not mandatory. Scholarship funds will be given to the students selected college to use towards enrollment expenses. Qualifications: * An agriculture major * Attend a Texas university or college * Full-time student (12+ hours) * Maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA, reporting GPA at end of each semester * 1000 minimum word essay with application * Not required to be a Texas resident * $500 per semester / $4000 total maximum / 4 year maximum * Funds sent to attending school first semester; from then on GPA and enrollment must be verified by a scholarship committee

Lois Britt Pork Industry Memorial Scholarships

The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) celebrated its 25th Anniversary of Live Hog Futures in 1990 and to commemorate this milepost, they asked to sponsor a Scholarship Program through the National Pork Producers Council (NPPC). This is the nineteenth consecutive year of their sponsorship of the Pork Industry Scholarship Program recognizing outstanding youth in the pork community. Four $2,500 scholarships are awarded to students who intend to pursue a career in the pork industry. These talented and thoughtful students will likely emerge as industry leaders someday.To be eligible, students must: * Be an undergraduate student in a two-year swine program or a four-year college of agriculture. * Write a brief letter indicating what role they see themselves playing in the pork industry after graduation. * Submit an essay of 750 words or less describing an issue they see confronting the pork industry today or in the future – and their solutions. * Obtain two letters of reference from current or former professors or industry professionals.The NPPC administers the program, reads the essays and selects the winners. Essays are judged on the basis of clarity or expression, persuasiveness, originality and relevance of topic.

Foundation Scholar Program

Applicant Qualifications1. Applicant must be a resident of Ohio.2. Applicant must be enrolled in one of the following courses of study:· An accredited high school program, with personal plans to pursue a degree as a full time student in an accredited two-year technical school or four–year college or university program.· A course of study leading to completion in an accredited GED program, with personal plans to pursue a degree as a full timestudent in an accredited two-year technical school or four–year college or university program.· An accredited two-year technical school.· An accredited four-year college or university program.· An accredited graduate program.3. Scholarship monies will be paid directly to the applicant after submission of their respective transcript detailing their grades for the first quarter or semester for the next academic year. Transcript must show that the Applicant/Scholarship Recipient maintains a 2.5 GPA in their chosen course of study.4. Applicant /Scholarship Recipient may reapply annually.5. Other Considerations:· The Applicant does not need to be a member of the Ohio Farm Bureau, their respective county Farm Bureau and/or member of any club or organization directly related to vocational agriculture.· While the Applicant does not need to be pursuing a degree directly connected to a school and/or college of agriculture, he/she must explain how a particular aspect of the field of agriculture (food production, scientific research, education/outreach, technical support, food processing, product distribution, marketing, policy making, advocacy and/or any other personal career/leadership development opportunity pursued by the applicant) impacts their career plans.
