Agribusiness Scholarships

St. Paul- based AgriBank, one of the largest banks within the national Farm Credit System, awards The William J. Collins Scholarship each year to honor the service of a dedicated former employee. This scholarship is awarded to children of Farm Credit employees in the AgriBank District (Board of Directors Excluded) who are graduating high school seniors planning to pursue a bachelor’s degree in an agriculture-related program. Each year, two $2,000 academic tuition/fees scholarships are awarded. The scholarships also provide sponsorship for AFA Leaders Conference the Fall of the freshman year of college, a $1,000 value. To be considered for this award, applicants must provide three letters of reference, under same or separate cover, that recognize the applicant’s personal, academic or leadership character. The Stanley H. Durwood Foundation, named after the late Founder of AMC Theaters and active philanthropist, provides five AFA Leader and Academic Scholarships to students identified and selected by AFA. The Trustees of the Foundation believe in continuing to provide access to education and are assisting in this effort by providing these five scholarships to deserving AFA delegates. These scholarships are only available for graduating high school seniors. Eligibility Requirements All scholarships include leader development award to attend the AFA Leaders Conference (November of scholarship year in Kansas City, Mo.), of which full attendance is required to receive the full academic scholarship. Students must be enrolling in an agriculture-related, four-year degree program. Students must be a citizen of the United States of America to be eligible for AFA scholarship awards. At Dairy Farmers of America, we believe it is important to invest in the next generation of leaders to ensure a bright future for the dairy industry. That is why we established the DFA Cares Foundation Scholarship Program. The California Cotton Alliance is a non-profit foundation with a primary mission to provide funding for cotton research. Additionally, however, the Alliance wishes to support academic and scholarship initiatives throughout the state of California. The Alliance is providing five scholarships to students currently attending California institutions and pursuing an agriculture or related major. Preference will be giving to students originally from the state of California, but scholarships are not limited to that criteria. Provides four AFA Leader and Academic Scholarships to female, Midwest agriculture students with a special interest in agriculture education . This scholarship provides a $3,200 academic tuition/fees scholarship, $1,000 registration fee for AFA Leaders Conference and the opportunity for the student to attend the BOTAR General Membership Meeting in January of her initial scholarship selection year. This scholarship is renewable up to three times if all scholarship requirements are fulfilled and at the discretion of the BOTAR committee. If a student receives this scholarship an additional three times, she will be asked to attend the BOTAR General Membership Meeting in her senior year as well, to share about her experiences. Students eligible to receive the AFA Leader and Academic Scholarship provided by BOTAR must: Be a female student pursuing a four-year degree in Agriculture Education or related field in the Midwest. Attend the BOTAR General Membership Meeting in January of her initial scholarship selection year. Meet all the AFA scholarship criteria and requirements listed above.

The Royal Scholars program is designed to provide an opportunity for outstanding college students to advocate the food and fiber industry, leadership and the American Royal. Royal Scholars will travel to Kansas City, Missouri, in the summer for training, Business and Scholarship Luncheon and again during the 116th American Royal to participate in School Tours, PRCA Rodeo, the American Royal Parade and Youth Leadership Day. In recognition of the outstanding achievements of the Royal Scholars and their continuing advocacy of the food and fiber industry, the American Royal Association will award a $2,500 scholarship to each student selected as a member of the Royal Scholars program.

Agriculture Future of America provides support to future leaders in agriculture from across the country through the AFA Leader and Academic Scholarship program. Scholarships seek to identify young leaders in the agriculture and food industry to enter AFA’s leader development program and receive an academic scholarship to support their academic education. AFA awards 40-50 National Leader and Academic Scholarships annually. AFA provides 30-35 AFA Leader and Academic Scholarships annually to graduating high school seniors or current college students , enrolling/enrolled in a agriculture-related, four-year degree program in the United States. These scholarships are supported by AFA Organizational Partners. Farm Plus Financial is now accepting applications for Agricultural Scholarship. The goal of this scholarship is to support young leaders who will go on to be the future of the agriculture and food industry. By providing a financial scholarship to these students, we hope to help educate the future generation. The Farm Plus Financial scholarship award recipients will receive a one time $1000 scholarship that can be used towards their education. To submit your application, you must be either a graduating high school senior or a current undergraduate student enrolled in an agriculture-related degree program. Scholarship recipients will be selected on the basis of career vision and goal, leader and community involvement, and financial need. Agriculture Scholarship Details Scholarships are available to students across the nation. The same application will be used for all scholarships offered by Farm Plus Financial. Farm Plus Financial scholarships are for undergraduate tuition only unless approved written consent is provided otherwise. Recipients may not be awarded more than one Farm Plus Financial scholarship per academic year. Students currently studying agriculture at select universities around the nation may be eligible to apply for a CHS Foundation University Scholarship. Nearly 150 $1,000 scholarships are awarded annually. Student eligibility: Scholarship recipients are selected by the following criteria: * Students are working towards an agricultural-related degree to pursue a career in agribusiness or production agriculture * Students will be entering their sophomore, junior or senior year; students are eligible to receive the scholarship multiple years * First preference will be given to students with an interest in agricultural-based cooperatives; this may include, but not be limited to students who have: o Demonstrated interest through educational experiences focusing on cooperatives, which may include, but is not limited to international study tours, professional development, conferences, job shadowing, current membership/involvement with an agricultural cooperative o Interned, worked or plan to work for an agricultural-based cooperative o Taken a course covering cooperative business structure Please check the website for more information.

These scholarships are provided to encourage undergraduate sophomores and junior students to pursue careers in marketing of milk or dairy products. Major areas can include: Dairy or Agricultural Marketing, Dairy Product Development, Dairy Quality Control or Testing, Dairy Foods or Nutrition, and Food Product Science. Scholarships are based on leadership, experience, academic ability and interests in Milk Marketing or Dairy Products. Co-sponsored with Dairy Management Inc. Application Deadline is April 15
