Aerospace Scholarships

Provides from 50% to full tuition to attend an EAA Air Academy session. This scholarship is established by the Carson Family in memory of Dean William Carson, a dedicated pilot who was passionate about life, his family, and who was a proud EAA Young Eagles pilot. Special considerations: Residents of Southern California preferred; age 14 – 18, serious intent to pursue aviation related studies beyond high school; 2.0 minimum GPA.

Minimum Requirements 1. Applicant must be a dues-current member of OBAP. 2. Have a minimum of 1500 hours total fixedwing pilot time. 3. Have a minimum of 1000 hours pilot in command (PIC) in fixed wing jet and/or fixed wing multi-engine turboprop.* 4. Applicant must submit a current resume. 5. Applicant must submit two (2) "Letters of Recommendation." 6. Applicant must currently have a FAA First Class Medical Certificate, and have authorization to study in the United States. 7. Submit a one page essay stating your interest in the Type Rating Scholarship.*Pilot in Command, per FAR 1.1, means the person who has final authority and responsibility for the operation and safety of the flight; has been designated as the pilot in command before or during the flight; holds the appropriate category, class and type rating, if appropriate for the conduct of the flight.UPS reserves the right to amend, suspend, rescind or terminate the scholarship for any reason after it has been awarded.

Applicant must provide a copy of his/her medical permit.The $5000 award must be applied toward an advance rating

Minimum Requirements Applicants must meet the following requirements: 1. Applicant must be a dues current member of OBAP. 2. Applicant must complete an essay on "What is/or has been your greatest life challenge, and how has it enriched your and/or someone else's life?" 5. Applicant must submit a current resume. 6. Applicant must submit two (2) "Letters of Recommendation" with one from a dues current OBAP member. 7. Applicant must provide a copy of his/her medical permit. 8. Applicant must write and submit a two (2)-page autobiography, which will include a recently taken photograph.

AFCEA DC awards multiple single-year standard scholarships in the amount of $4,000 each, and one single-year scholarship in the amount of $8,000 to Metro-area high school seniors in the Washington, D.C., Northern Virginia and Maryland area. Second-year students in area community colleges who are entering a four-year college may apply for one-time scholarships of $2,000. Scholarship awards are provided to qualified students pursuing degrees in the C4I-related fields of engineering (electrical, computer, chemical, aerospace or systems); electronics; mathematics; computer science; physics; science education; mathematics education; technology management; or management information systems.

Must apply for federal financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). DACA applicants must submit household income information. The Asian Pacific Community Fund partners with Verizon to financially assist students in their pursuit of higher education as they face the challenge of significantly rising costs of obtaining a college degree. These awards will support those who excel academically, are leaders amongst their peers and are making a positive impact in their communities. Eligibility: Students who are residents of California, Oregon or Washington OR students attending college in one of those states High School Senior who plan to enroll as a 1st year college student in a U.S. accredited 4-year college or university as a full-time, degree-seeking student majoring in math, engineering, or a science (Please check website for complete listing of majors eligible for this scholarship) Have a minimum cumulative unweighted high school GPA of 3.0

Scholarships of $5,000 will be awarded to full-time students pursuing an undergraduate degree in an eligible major and currently enrolled in an accredited Historically Black College or University (HBCU) institution in the United States. Distance-learning or online programs affiliated with one of these institutions are eligible. Candidates must be at least second-year college students, enrolled full time as sophomores or juniors at the time of application. Scholarships of $3,000 will be awarded to full-time graduate students currently working toward a master's degree in an eligible major. Graduate students are not required to be enrolled in an HBCU institution. Distance-learning or online programs will not qualify. Eligibility: NOTE: Degree-seeking candidates must be U.S. citizens. Undergraduate students must be currently enrolled and attending either a two-year or four-year accredited HBCU institution in the United States. Students also may be enrolled in an accredited distance-learning or online degree program affiliated with one of these institutions. Applications will be accepted from qualified sophomore and junior students (minimum second-year students only) enrolled full-time in an eligible degree-seeking program. Candidates must be actively pursuing an undergraduate degree in an eligible major at accredited two- or four-year institutions in the United States. Distance-learning or online programs affiliated with a major U.S. institution are eligible. The AFCEA Disabled War Veterans Scholarships are funded by generous contributions from Microsoft employees with matching funds from Microsoft, the AFCEA Camp Pendleton Chapter, and the AFCEA Educational Foundation. Eligibility: Applications are requested from U.S. Armed Forces and National Guard personnel, either currently on active-duty or honorably discharged veterans, or reservists who are disabled because of wounds received after service in either Enduring Freedom-Afghanistan or Iraqi Freedom. Merit-based scholarships of varying amounts will be awarded to persons on active duty in the uniformed military services, to honorably discharged U.S. military veterans (including Reservists and National Guard personnel), and to disabled veterans who are currently enrolled part time or full time in an eligible degree program at an accredited two- or four-year college or university in the U.S. Eligible candidates must be at least second-year college students enrolled full time as sophomores or juniors in four-year institutions at the time of application. All candidates must provide a copy of Certificate of Service, Discharge Form DD214, copy of latest performance review or other verification of service. (Please black out your Social Security Number when submitting.) Distance-learning or online programs affiliated with a major U.S. institution are eligible. Eligibility: Applicants must be: 1.
