Wisconsin Scholarships

Some states or counties have hundreds of scholarships for which you may qualify.

Norm-E-Lane Scholarship

Established by the MHS FFA Alumni in honor of Norm & ElaineMeissner and named after the Meissner’s dairy business.Eligibility: Graduating senior of Marshfield High School who has identified production agriculture as a career goal.Application: Available from the Marshfield High Schoolagriculture department. Selection made by the FFA Alumni Scholarship Committee.

Marshfield High School Senior Class Scholarship

Established by the past senior classes of Marshfield High School to honor a graduating senior.Eligibility: Full-time students from the Marshfield High School who are scheduled to be enrolled as an undergraduate on a full-time basis at an accredited university or college. Financial need will be considered.Application: Available in the Guidance Office at MHS.

David L. MacArthur Memorial Scholarship

Established by the family of David L. MacArthur.Eligibility: Applicant must be a graduating senior at either Marshfield or Colby High School.Preference given to applicants involved in high school basketballprogram and expressing intention of pursuing program of study toward a degree in physical education or other sports related field. Financial need will be considered.Application: Available from Colby and Marshfield High School guidance departments.

H.G. (Pete) and Patrice LeGrand

Established by Pat LeGrand. Mrs. LeGrand served on the Board of the Marshfield Area Community Foundation.Eligibility: A post high school student pursuing academic or vocational training at an accredited college, university or trade school, or a post high school student, who, having been in the work force, is attempting to better their career standing or change careers by pursuing an academic or trade degree on greater than a half-time statusApplication: Available from the Marshfield Area CommunityFoundation.

Norbert H. & Joan LaSee Scholarship

(2 scholarships of $608 each for Marshfield High School;2 scholarships of $608 each for Columbus Catholic High School)Mr. & Mrs. LaSee established their scholarship fund with theCommunity Foundation in 1998. Both have since passed away.Eligibility:MHS Scholarships: Two scholarships, one to a student havingdemonstrated aptitude in English, the other in agriculture.CCHS Scholarships: Two scholarships, one to a student havingdemonstrated aptitude in science, the other in home economics.Application:MHS: Selection is made by the chairs of the Agriculture andEnglish Departments.CCHS: CCHS Application Packet. Selection is made by acommittee comprised of the principal and the heads of the Science & Home Economics Departments.Deadline: Check with guidance departments

Ted J. Ketterl Scholarship

Ted Ketterl was an admired and respected chemistry and physicsteacher at Marshfield High School for many years.Eligibility: A graduating senior at Marshfield High School who hasdemonstrated academic excellence in the sciences and/oris planning to major in the sciences. Financial need is aconsideration.

Dorothy & Alex B. Knox Fund

This fund established by Mr. Knox has granted 72 scholarshipsworth more than $35,353 since first being Awarded in 2000.Eligibility: Marshfield High School senior planning to attend a technical college or a university.

Melvin A. Hintz Columbus High School Scholarship

This is one of three funds established as a bequest of MelvinHintz, a Marshfield native and teacher.Eligibility: The Hintz scholarships are Awarded to students who will be attending Columbus Catholic High School in the fall to defray CCHS tuition costs. Scholarships are based only on financial need.Application: Inquire at the Columbus Catholic High Schoolguidance office.Deadline: Awarded in the spring or summer.

Marilyn Hardacre Scholarships

(1 scholarship of $500 for Marshfield High School; 1 scholarship of $500 for Columbus Catholic High School)Marilyn Hardacre was a founding trustee (ex officio) of the MarshfieldArea Community Foundation. The Marilyn Hardacre Fund was established by individuals, businesses, and industries honoring Marilyn upon her retirement as Executive Director of MACCI.Eligibility:MHS Scholarship: Applicant must have participated in YouthApprenticeship, Co-op, or a work-based learning program andbe planning to attend a technical college or a university.CCHS Scholarship: Applicant must be planning to pursue afield of study in political science or public administration.(In addition, the Hardacre Fund also supports the LeadershipMarshfield program.)

Harry & Gladys Chronquist Family Scholarship

Established as a bequest of Harry & Gladys ChronquistEligibility: Graduating seniors of Marshfield High School planning to attend a university, technical college, or special school. Criteria include scholastic and/or talent and ability, financial need, and personality. The scholarship is renewable for sophomore year.

Fore Bill : Bill Allen Memorial Scholarship

Established by Mrs. Patricia Allen and the Fore Bill Memorial Celebration as a memorial to Bill Allen and his communityservice.Eligibility: Graduating Senior of Marshfield High School or Columbus Catholic High School planning to attend a university, technical school, or special school to pursue business, finance, marketing, health care, or a medically related field. The student must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA, have shown scholastic achievement, talent, ability, and have financial need. They also must be planning to continuing their love of music by participating in a musical performing group at their college.Application: MHS guidance office or CCHS guidance office

Bill Burnham Scholarship

Established as a memorial to Bill BurnhamEligibility: Graduating senior of Marshfield High School recognized for perseverance and scholarship while overcoming challenges.Application: Application available at Marshfield High Schoolguidance office.
