West Virginia Scholarships
There are 45 colleges and universities in West Virginia. West Virginia University, Fairmont State University and the University of Charleston represent the larger institutions. Also, Marshall University and West Liberty University were both established in 1837, making them two of the oldest institutions of higher learning in the area.
The industry of West Virginia is diverse, ranging from coal production to green energy produced through wind turbines. Some of the larger private employers in the state include Kroger, Walmart, Lowe's, Consol Energy and West Virginia United Health System.

Applicants should be incoming freshmen who will be pursuing a degree in the College of Engineering and Mineral Resources. A $1,000 freshman scholarship will be awarded.
A Korean student currently enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program is qualified to apply. Applicants are judged on the basis of financial need, academic achievement, extracurricular activities, and community service. For the Eastern Region, schools must be located in either: New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, District of Columbia, New York, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, or Kentucky.
LA Tutors awards a monthly $500 Innovation Scholarship to high school and college students who showcase their creativity and make a positive impact.
This scholarship fund was established by Dr. Frank H. Fischer to provide scholarships to eligible recipients pursuing an associate degree in business or accounting.
These scholarships are offered to eligible new students. They are offered at four different levels: Collegiate, Scholar, Honors and Presidential. A scholarship application is not necessary. Students will be awarded on a rolling basis according to their admissions file. Students need to be accepted prior to consideration for a scholarship. Acceptance is determined by the receipt of an application for admission, transcripts, and test scores. Scholarships are for two years; renewal for the second year is contingent upon the student earning a 3.0 GPA with the successful completion of 27 credit hours. Scholarships will be awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis until funds are exhausted.Students will only be considered for a scholarship if their admissions file is complete by December 15. * Collegiate - 3.0 GPA and 21 ACT/990 SAT; resident $500, non-resident $1,000 * Scholar - 3.25 GPA and 23 ACT/1070 SAT; resident $750, non-resident $1,500 * Honors - 3.5 GPA and 26 ACT/1180 SAT; resident $1,000, non-resident $2,000 * Presidential - 3.75 GPA and 30 ACT/1340 SAT; resident $1,500, non-resident $3,000
MusicAuthority recognizes the positive impact that music can have on a student’s learning experience. Studies have shown how music can enhance learning- from improving memory performance to relieving anxiety, music can be a great component to aid a student’s college experience.
We are proud to offer our $1,000 scholarship to one current or prospective student. We will be offering this scholarship on a continual basis and we are excited to promote a passion for music and higher education.

ELIGIBILITY•College/University: Any•Financial Need: Yes•Renewable: Yes•Specific preferences:(1) Family member of a (current or previous) coal industry employee within Southern WV(2) Qualifications for employment include working for a company engaged in the mining and processing of coal and located within the following West Virginia counties: Boone, Braxton, Cabell, Calhoun, Clay, Fayette, Greenbrier, Jackson, Kanawha, Lincoln, Logan, Mason, McDowell, Mercer, Mingo, Monroe, Nicholas, Pocahontas, Putnam, Raleigh, Randolph, Roane, Summers, Wayne, Webster, and Wyoming.
