AFCEA General Emmett Paige Scholarship

Scholarships of $2,000 each will be awarded to persons on active duty in the uniformed military services, to veterans, and to their spouses or dependents, who are currently enrolled full time in an eligible degree program at an accredited 4-year college or university in the U.S. (Veterans attending college as freshmen are eligible to apply; all others must be at least second-year college students, enrolled full time as sophomores or juniors at the time of application.) Please Note: Distance Learning or OnLine Programs will not qualify. Eligibility: Candidate must be a U.S. citizen, Majors directly related to the support of U.S. intelligence enterprises or national security with relevance to the mission of AFCEA will also be eligible. Minimum GPA requirement is 3.4 on 4.0 scale or better. Candidates must provide a copy of Certificate of Service, Discharge Form DD214, or facsimile of candidate's current Department of Defense or Coast Guard Identification Card. Veterans of Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan) and Iraqi Freedom Scholarship

The AFCEA Northern Virginia (NOVA) Chapter has contributed $100,000 to establish the Iraqi/Afghanistan War Veterans Scholarship Fund. This scholarship fund will award $2,500 annual scholarships to qualified Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines and Coast Guardsmen. The AFCEA Educational Foundation is pleased to co-sponsor this scholarship opportunity for U.S. War Veterans. The NOVA Chapter sees its $100,000 as the first installment in a campaign to raise $1Million over the next five years that would generate 20 scholarships for veterans every year in perpetuity. The NOVA Chapter challenges corporations, other AFCEA chapters and individuals to contribute to the War Veterans Scholarship Fund by making a contribution to the NOVA Chapter or the Educational Foundation. Scholarships of $2,500 each are offered to active-duty and honorably discharged U.S. military veterans (to include Reservists and National Guard personnel) of the Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan) or Iraqi Freedom operations who are actively pursuing an undergraduate degree in an eligible major at accredited two- or four-year institutions in the United States. Distance-learning or online programs affiliated with a major U.S. institution are eligible. PLEASE NOTE: This scholarship is offered twice annually; however, individuals may be awarded only one AFCEA scholarship per year. Eligibility: Applicants must be currently enrolled and attending either a two-year or four-year accredited college or university in the United States. AFCEA Distance Learning/ Online Scholarship

Scholarships of $1,500 will be awarded to full-time students pursuing either a Bachelor of Science or Master's of Science degree by means of a distance-learning or on-line program. The program must be affiliated with a major, accredited four-year college or university in the United States. Primary consideration will be given for academic excellence. Eligibility: Candidate must be a U.S. citizen currently enrolled full time. Minimum second-year students only will be accepted. Undergraduate transcripts at the time of application must reflect a one-year minimum of coursework completed based on a 30-semester hour equivalent. Classes in progress at the time of application cannot be used towards the one-year minimum completion. Acceptable majors for both undergraduate and graduate candidates will be limited to the following or related fields of electrical, chemical, systems or aerospace engineering; mathematics; physics; science or mathematics education; technology management; or computer science. Majors directly related to the support of U.S. intelligence enterprises or national security with relevance to the mission of AFCEA will also be eligible. Full-time enrollment at the time of application is required. For programs with 6-week semester intervals, a minimum of three 3-credit hour classes must be in progress or the equivalent. For undergraduate applicants, two semesters of calculus must be completed (based on a 30-semester hour equivalent) and reflected on the transcript. Calculus in progress will not qualify. Pre-calculus will not be accepted towards this requisite. Graduate applicants must have completed at least one full semester of work and be enrolled full time at the time of application. AFCEA General John A. Wickham Scholarship

Scholarships of $2,000 each will be awarded to full time students currently enrolled in accredited degree-granting 4-year colleges or universities in the United States. Candidates must be at least second-year college students, enrolled full time as sophomores or juniors at the time of application. Please Note: Distance Learning or OnLine Programs will not qualify. Eligibility: Candidate must be a U.S. citizen and working toward a degree in the following or C4I-related fields of electrical, computer, chemical, systems or aerospace engineering; computer science; physics; mathematics; science or mathematics education; technology management; or management information systems. Majors directly related to the support of U.S. intelligence enterprises or national security with relevance to the mission of AFCEA will also be eligible. Vice Adm. Jerry O. Tuttle, USN (Ret.) and Mrs. Barbara A. Tuttle Science & Technology Scholarship

Scholarships of $2,000 will be awarded to students working full time toward an undergraduate Bachelor of Science technology degree at any fully accredited institution in the United States. Students must major in one of the following fields such as those offered by schools like ITT Tech, DeVry or Lincoln Tech: Computer Engineering Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, Computer Network Systems, or Information Systems Security. Please Note: Distance Learning or OnLine Programs will not qualify. Eligibility: Candidate must be a U. S. citizen enrolled full time in a technology major and be a sophomore or junior at the time of application - minimum second-year students please. Primary consideration will be given to a military enlisted candidate. Uphoff Scholarship

The Howard Uphoff Art Scholarship is distributed by the Arts Council of Fairfax County at the bequest of the Howard Uphoff estate. The Uphoff Student Art Fund awards a total of $5,000 to three seniors graduating from Fairfax County Public Schools. Recipients must demonstrate financial need and intend to continue their studies of the visual arts in college. Two awards of $2,000 and one award of $1,000 are made. Currently, the Howard Uphoff Art Scholarship is awarded to Fairfax County Public School participants in the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, a nationwide program that recognizes creative teenagers with scholarship opportunities. The Arts Council awards the Howard Uphoff Art Scholarship to graduating seniors who are recognized at the County level of the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards program for their achievement in the visual arts. The foundations total giving for 2007 is $1,114,124 for grants.

Fortune Brands Scholars Program
