The Amarillo Handgunners Association - The Bill Goodson Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was established in May 1987 by the Amarillo Handgunners Club, Inc. to provide financial aid to a deserving student with achievements in shooting sports. The scholarship is named in memory of Bill Goodson, a stalwart pioneer of the club. Eligibility  • Resident of 26 northernmost counties of Texas Panhandle  • Must be an American citizen  • Graduating senior  • Maintained “C” average grade during school year and a 2.0 while attending college/university  • Engaged in or sincerely interested in a shooting sport or activity  • Unrestricted in field of study or institution attended Application  • AAF General Scholarship Application  • Attach separate sheet listing all shooting activities and awards Award Selection  • Amarillo Area Foundation Scholarship Screening Committee Scholarship Amount  • $500  • One time award The annual application deadline is generally mid-February each year.

Association of Information Technology Professionals Scholarship

Eligibility  • Residents of the top 26 counties of the Texas Panhandle (including current and returning college students)  • Must major in Computer Information Systems of Computer Science  • Must attend West Texas A&M University or Amarillo College  • Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA to be eligible to apply and must maintain a 3.0 GPA in college Application  • AAF General Scholarship Application Award Selection  • Amarillo Area Foundation Scholarship Selection Committee Scholarship Amount  • $1,000 payable over two semesters  • One time award

Alvin A. and Hattie Mae Bush Accounting Scholarship

Eligibility  • Graduating senior or currently enrolled college student from the 26 northernmost counties of the Texas Panhandle or students currently attending the restricted colleges/universities listed below  • Major in Accounting  • Maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA while in college  • Must attend Amarillo College, Texas Tech University, or West Texas A&M University Application  • AAF General Scholarship Application Award Selection  • Amarillo Area Foundation Scholarship Screening Committee Scholarship Amount  • $1,000  • Renewable award pending committee review of renewal application The annual application deadline is generally mid-February each year.

Elesa Crump Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Eligibility • Graduating senior or currently enrolled college or graduate student; • Must have a documented physical, mental, and/or learning disability; • Must have a 2.5 GPA to apply and must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 while in college; • Must attend Amarillo College or West Texas A&M University; • Major in any field of study. Dallam County 4-H Scholarship

Eligibility  • Graduating senior from Dallam County  • Must attend 50% of 4-H club meetings senior year; be enrolled in 4-H a minimum of 4 years; must complete at least 1 project each year; submit a 4-H record book during 3 of the last 4 years  • Maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA  • Major in field of choice at college/university of choice Application  • Available from Dallam County AgriLife Agent Award Selection  • Local scholarship committee Scholarship Amount  • $1,000 payable upon college classification as Sophomore or 24 hours completed  • One time award

Howard D. Graves Scholarship

Eligibility  • Graduating or currently enrolled students from the 26 northernmost counties of the Texas Panhandle  • Recipient must attend an institution in the Texas A&M System  • Have and maintain a 3.0 or better cumulative GPA  • Major in field of their choice Application  • AAF General Scholarship Application Award Selection  • Amarillo Area Foundation Scholarship Selection Committee Scholarship Amount  • $1,000  • One time award The annual application deadline is generally mid-February each year.

The Henry Hamilton Scholarship

Eligibility  • Graduating or currently enrolled students from the 26 northernmost counties of the Texas panhandle  • Exhibit community service, leadership, and financial need  • Maintain a 2.5 or better cumulative GPA while in college  • Major in field of Engineering and/or Environmental Science and may attend the school of their choice Application  • AAF General Scholarship Application Award Selection  • Amarillo Area Foundation Scholarship Screening Committee Scholarship Amount  • $500  • One time award The annual application deadline is generally mid-February each year.

Senator Grady and Andrine Hazlewood Scholarship

Eligibility  • Graduating senior from high schools located in the 26 northernmost counties of the Texas Panhandle  • Exhibit financial need  • Maintain a 2.5 or better cumulative GPA while in college  • Major in field of choice  • Must attend Amarillo College, Texas Tech University, or West Texas A&M University Application  • AAF General Scholarship Application Award Selection  • Amarillo Area Foundation Scholarship Screening Committee Scholarship Amount  • $1,000 each, number of awards based on current year income  • Renewable award pending committee review of renewal application The annual application deadline is generally mid-February each year.

Love Your Neighbor Scholarship

Eligibility  • Graduating senior from 26 northernmost counties of Texas Panhandle  • Exhibit financial need, community service, and leadership  • Be an active member in his/her local church  • Maintain a 2.0 or better cumulative GPA while in college  • Major in field of choice at Amarillo College or West Texas A&M University  • Be a "B" average student who works a full-time job while in high school Application  • AAF General Scholarship Application - You must also submit a letter from your pastor or youth minister that addresses your involvement in your church Award Selection  • AAF Scholarship Selection Committee and local community members Scholarship Amount • $1,000  • Renewable award pending committee review of renewal application The annual application deadline is generally mid-February each year.

Mike Lozano Scholarship

This scholarship fund was established in 2013 by family and friends of Coach Lozano. The fund will provide one scholarship annually to a graduating high school senior athlete from the northernmost 26 counties of the Texas Panhandle. Eligibility • Graduating high school senior; • Must be a student athlete; • Must have a 2.0 GPA to apply and must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 while in college; • May attend any accredited college/university • Must be interested in pursuing a degree in education and/or coaching for the purpose of teaching and coaching at the high school level upon graduation from college Application • AAF General Scholarship Application Award Selection • Local Scholarship Selection Committee Scholarship Amount • $5,000 • One-time award payable over two semesters The annual application deadline is generally mid-February each year.

Jack and Marci McMicken Scholarship

This scholarship was established by the Amarillo Bowling Association in memory of  Jack L. and Marci McMicken for their love of, dedication and contributions to, and promotion of the sport of bowling. Panhandle Restaurant Association Scholarship

Benjamin Gimp Raffkind Memorial Scholarship

Eligibility  • Graduating senior from 26 northernmost counties of the Texas Panhandle  • Exhibit community service and leadership  • Maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA while in college  • Special consideration will be given to applicants whose recommendation letters indicate specific ability or potential which may not be reflected in the GPA  • Major in field of choice at Amarillo College or West Texas A&M University Application  • AAF General Scholarship Application Award Selection  • AAF Scholarship Selection Committee and local community members Scholarship Amount  • $1,000  • Renewable award pending committee review of renewal application The annual application deadline is generally mid-February each year.

The Kathy Ryan Rural Fire and Rescue Endowment

The Kathy Ryan Rural Fire and Rescue Endowment will provide a scholarship(s) to fire or rescue personnel or volunteers in the rural Texas Panhandle to attend or obtain training and/or education in fire fighting and/or rescue. Applicants must be a current member, volunteer, or employee of a recognized fire and/or rescue organization in the rural Texas Panhandle (defined as the northernmost 24 counties in northwest Texas, excluding Potter and Randall Counties). A specialized application will be used, which will be due in the office of the Amarillo Area Foundation by December 1 of each year for the award to be announced on March 12 of the following year.

Jack B. Weinberger Memorial Scholarship
