Guy D. & Mary Halladay Graduate Scholarship

Scholarships are available for graduate level students (a course of study beyond a bachelors degree) in a field of your choice at a college in Michigan. Applicant must have been a Kent County resident for a minimum of five years, have a minimum 3.0 college grade point average, and demonstrate financial need.

Black Men Building Resources Scholarship

Grants are available to African American students (male or female) who are residents of Kent County and have graduated or earned a GED certificate during the year of application. Students must be admitted to an accredited post-secondary institution to pursue a degree, certificate or license.

Dorothy J. Thurston Scholarship

Grants are available for full- or part-time students pursuing graduate-level study (Master's, M.D., Ph.D.) at the accredited university of their choice in Michigan. Applicants must demonstrate financial need, have a minimum 3.0 cumulative college grade point average and must have been Kent County residents for a minimum of two years (at time of application or prior to the beginning of their undergraduate education). The scholarship is renewable, provided the student maintains a 3.0 grade point average and there is continued financial need.

Harry J. and Lucille M. Brown Scholarship

Grants are available for full-time students who have been residents of Kent County for a minimum of three years, and are pursuing an undergraduate degree at the accredited college of their choice. Applicants must have a minimum grade point average of 3.3 and demonstrate financial need.

Paul Collins Scholarship

Grants are available for full-time undergraduate students studying Fine or Applied Arts at an area college including Aquinas College, Calvin College, Grand Valley State University, Grand Rapids Community College, or Kendall College of Art and Design. Each applicant must be a resident of Kent County, have at least a 2.5 grade point average and demonstrate artistic talent.

Economic Club of Grand Rapids Scholarship

Grants are available to full-time undergraduate students who are pursuing a degree in Business at the accredited college of their choice. Students must have been residents of Kent or Ottawa County for a minimum of three years and have at least a 3.0 grade point average.

Virginia Valk Fehsenfeld Scholarship

Grants are available for full-time undergradudate students pursuing a degree at the institution of their choice in one of the following fields: education, dietetics, nutrition, or general human services. Applicants must be Kent County residents, have at least a 3.4 grade point average, and demonstrate a financial need.

Melbourne and Alice E. Frontjes Scholarship

Grants are available for full- and part-time undergraduate students attending any of the following Michigan colleges: Central Michigan University, Grand Rapids Community College, Michigan State University, University of Michigan, or Western Michigan University. Applicants must have been residents of Kent County for a minimum of three years, have a minimum 2.75 grade point average and demonstrate financial need.

Mathilda Gallmeyer Scholarship

Grants are available for full-time undergraduate students majoring in Art with an emphasis in Painting or Fine Arts at an accredited institution. Each applicant must have been a resident of Kent County for a minimum of five years, have a minimum 2.75 grade point average, and demonstrate artistic talent.

Grand Rapids Foundation Local Scholarships

Available for full- and part-time undergraduate studens attending any of the following Grand Rapids area colleges: Aquinas College, Calvin College, Cornerstone College, Davenport College, Grand Rapids Community College, Grand Valley State University, or Kendall College of Art and Design. Applicants must have been residents of Kent County for a minimum of three years, have a minimum 3.0 grade point average, and demonstrate financial need.

Grand Rapids Foundation Michigan Scholarships

Available for full-time undergraduate students attending a college of their choice in Michigan, excluding the following seven local colleges: Aquinas College, Calvin College, Cornerstone College, Davenport College, Grand Rapids Community College, Grand Valley State University, or Kendall College of Art and Design. Applicants must have been residents of Kent County for a minimum of three years, have a minimum 3.0 grade point average, and demonstrate financial need.

Guy D. and Mary Edith Halladay Music Scholarship

Grants are available to students undertaking postgraduate work, or advanced study or research, in the field of music (e.g. Interlochen, Julliard). Applicants must have been residents of Kent County for a minimum of five years, have a minimum grade point average of 3.0, and demonstrate financial need.

Lavina Laible Scholarship

Grants are available to Grand Rapids Community College women students transferring to the University of Michigan for their junior year. Applicants must be residents of Kent County and demonstrate financial need.

Mildred E. Troske Music Scholarship

Grants are available to full-time undergraduate students, attending an accredited institution, and pursuing an educational emphasis in music. Applicants must have been residents of Kent County for a minimum of five years, have a minimum grade point average of 3.0, and demonstrate financial need.

MSPE Calvin College, James P. Bosscher Schp

Eligibility Requirements: A high school senior and a resident of Michigan. A citizen of the United States at the time of application. Have at least a 3.0 grade point average (based on a 4.0 scale) for the 10th and 11th grades. Attain a minimum composite test score of 26 on the American College Testing Program (ACT). Must be enrolled in engineering at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Submit a list of senior classes being taken.

Donald J. DeYoung Scholarship

Student is a current or former ward of the court in Kent County, Michigan pursuing an undergraduate college or vocational education. Must have financial need, a 2.5 minimum GPA and provide a letter of recommendation from a caseworker.

Grand Rapids Combined Theatre Scholarships

Student is a full-time theatre arts major at an accredited college/university with theatre experience at one of the local community theatres. Must provide three letters of recommendation and have financial need.

Achille & Irene Despres, William & Andre Scholarship

Student is of Mexican heritage and resides in Kent or Ottawa County and will be attending an accredited college/university for undergraduate studies. Must have financial need and a minimum 2.75 GPA.

Audrey L. Wright Scholarship

Student is a Kent County resident (3 year minimum) pursuing an undergraduate degree in Foreign Language or Education. Must have financial need and a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Carolyn Gallmeyer Scholarship

Student is a Kent County resident pursuing an undergraduate degree at any U.S. college. Must have financial need and a minimum 2.75 GPA.
