Joe Brisson Memorial Scholarship Scholarship Requirements: * Pursuing post-secondary education (including trade/vocational school, community colleges, or universities) * Must love soccer and have played on any league * Must display an adventurous spirit and a zest for life * Must qualify for acceptance at chosen school; GPA will not be a determining factor * Must reside in Antrim, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, or Leelanau County * Students will be asked to complete an essay question that describes why they are a good candidate for this particular memorial scholarshipUniversity Center Scholarships The income from this fund provides scholarships to area students completing undergraduate or graduate study at Northwestern Michigan College's University Center. The scholarships are the Richard and Clarine Olson Scholarship for students in human services programs and the Marvin and Luella Rorick University Center scholarship.Consideration is given to applicants that fulfill the following criteria: * Officially admitted to a bachelor's degree program at the NMC University Center and be enrolled for a minimum of six credit hours per semester * Resident of Antrim, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska or Leelanau county * Have a University Center grade point of 3.0 or higher * Demonstrate financial need * In a human services field, including nursing, social work, family life, etc. * Returning and/or working students are encouraged to apply
