The Mike Reynolds Journalism Scholarship Mike Reynolds, who died in 1988 of a brain tumor at age 45, was assignment editor and then managing editor at KCCI-TV in Des Moines, IA. Trustees of the fund to honor his memory require applicants for this award to be enrolled in journalism school and have good writing ability, excellent grades, a dedication to the news business, strong interest in pursuing a career in electronic journalism and a demonstrated need for financial assistance. Applicants should list media-related jobs held and contributions made to funding their own education. Applicants must submit a copy of their FAFSA Student Aid Report (SAR) as a part of the application. The recipient of the Mike Reynolds Journalism Scholarship will receive $1,000. P.E.O. Applicants must submit a statement that upon completion of their degrees, they will return to their home countries to pursue professional careers.
