Rebecca Baker Memorial Scholarship Endowment Rebecca Baker, an FCHS student passed away after a car accident. Established by Joanne Sottong, Rebecca’s employer at Arby’s in Brookville, to provide an annual scholarship to a graduating FCHS student for the purpose of furthering their education.
The scholarship will enable such graduate to have funds applied toward the costs of tuition in such student's first year as a full-time student in an accredited college or university.
The recipient is selected by the scholarship committee of the Franklin County Community Foundation. The scholarship is awarded after giving consideration to character, dependability and need.Mary & Chester Bommer Memorial Scholarship Established in 2009 by Diana Galyen, Robert Bommer and Roger Bommer. Primary consideration will be given to Franklin County students that have been active in 4-H and are pursuing a degree in a field related to Agriculture, Consumer Science or Natural Resources. Secondary consideration will be given to Franklin County students that are members of FFA and are pursuing a degree in a field related to Agriculture, Consumer Science or Natural Resources.Sister Dominica Doyle Scholarship Sister Dominica Doyle has taught and administrated generations as principal and teacher at Saint Michael Parish in Brookville. To honor her relentless dedication to instilling spiritual values and a desire for learning in her students, the St. Michael Parish community has established the Sister Dominica Doyle Scholarship in the Franklin County Community Foundation.
The scholarship’s principal will be invested and the income will be distributed evenly for two scholarships. The first scholarship will be awarded to a seventh grade St. Michael Student to be used for the student’s eighth grade books, tuition and fees. The second will be awarded to a St. Michael graduate for the student’s college education.Edwina Geiling Dairy Cottage Scholarship Established in 2009 by Herb Geiling in memory of his mother, Edwina. This is a pass-through scholarship that will be available for a limited time.
