The AAUW Sarasota Branch Elizabeth Parker Scholarship Fund

The American Association of University Women Sarasota Branch Elizabeth Parker Scholarship Fund was established in 2006 to provide scholarships to residents of Sarasota County to attend college or university. Preference is given to women returning to finish their education in order to re-enter the workplace. Giving primarily to residents of Sarasota County, FL.

The byourself Scholarship Fund

Established in 2002, the byourself Scholarship Fund will provide scholarships to adult learners, men or women, in Sarasota County pursuing an RN, LPN, or CNA. Scholarships are for students accepted into the nursing programs at Manatee Community College or Sarasota County Technical Institute. The scholarship may be renewed if the student maintains a 2.8 GPA. Financial need is the major criterion. Giving primarily in Charlotte, Manatee, and Sarasota counties, FL.

The Davis Educational Fund

The Davis Educational Fund offers scholarships to adult learners, men and women, who are residents of Sarasota County. It was established to help students obtain a college degree or vocational training to pursue a career in nursing or the medical field. A preference will be given to students who have been accepted into a health related program. Recipients will be selected on the basis of their financial need and on their educational objectives that will lead to a career in the health care field. The Helen F. (Jerri) Rand Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Helen F. Jerri Rand Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 2006 to provide scholarships for adult learners in Sarasota County to pursue a professional certificate in Hairdressing. Applicants must be accepted to any accredited beauty school in Sarasota County. Giving primarily to residents of Sarasota County, FL.

The Dorothy B. Templeton Scholarship Fund

Established in 2008, the Dorothy B. Templeton Scholarship Fund is to provide scholarships for local students. Giving primarily in Charlotte, Manatee, and Sarasota counties, FL.

The Zonta Fund for Women

The Zonta Club of Sarasota, an international service organization of professional women, started the Zonta Fund for Women of the Community Foundation in 1991. The purpose of the Zonta Fund is to promote economic self-sufficiency for women in Sarasota County and provide economic opportunities for disadvantaged women in Sarasota County. Through the Zonta Fund, grants and scholarships are provided so that women can get the training they need to start a business or develop the business that they already have. Preference is given to women who have already demonstrated a commitment to realizing their goals. Examples of help include: 1) Completion of educational or technical training that allows a woman to pursue a career 2) Acquisition of business equipment needed to improve a womans competitive position or productive capacity. The Joe Turnesa Memorial Fund

The Joe Turnesa Memorial Fund of the Community Foundation of Sarasota County was established by the members of the Sara Bay Golf and Country Club for the benefit of Greater Sarasota Junior Golfers. The Kerr Heaney Memorial Scholarship Fund

This scholarship is for students who live within the specific area that the Nokomis Volunteer Fire Department services or must volunteer with the Nokomis Volunteer Fire Department.
