District 3 Shirley Bollinger Scholarship

PurposeThis scholarship is to pursue a minimum four-year bachelors degree in welding engineering or welding engineering technology.EligibilityAll applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:1. Applicant must be a minimum of eighteen years of age.2. Applicant must have a minimum high school diploma.3. Applicant must have a 3.2 overall grade point average.4. Applicant must provide a letter of reference indicating how they will use their welding education.5. Student must be enrolled full time.6. Proof of financial need is required to qualify.7. Applicants has a documented work history that includes hands-on welding experience verified by an employer.8. Applicant must submit all required application information.9. Applicant must be a citizen of the United States.10. Applicant must reside in District 3.11. Applicants may reapply; however, persons who have received this award may reapply and may be granted the award for a maximum of 4 years.The award will be presented to individuals who reside in District 3. Applicant does not have to be a member of the American Welding Society.

The Bailey Family Foundation Scholarship

The Bailey Family Foundation wants to encourage students to continue their education by awarding scholarships to students who have demonstrated scholastic achievement and financial need. The The Bailey Family Foundation awards scholarships to high school seniors and college students primarily in Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Polk counties, Florida. Criteria: Possess a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.5 Demonstrate financial need Applicant must be a graduating high school senior or current college student Currently attending or plan to attend eligible schools listed in our application Applicants must be legal US residents Applicants must be pursuing their undergraduate degree or diploma Scholarship is for tuition and tuition related fees only If selected, application information WILL be verified Application must be submitted between Jan 1st - Mar 15th

Lynch Family Legacy Scholarships

In 1998 John and Linda Lynch established the Lynch Family Legacy Scholarships to benefit student-athletes. Through the scholarship program, the Lynch family provides financial assistance for high school senior student-athletes in the Tampa Bay and Denver areas to apply towards tuition at the college of their choice.Scholarship applicants are chosen based on their academic performance, athletic accomplishments and community involvement. They also must submit an essay and 3 letters of recommendation. Financial need is also considered. To date, $271,000 has been awarded to high school seniors through these scholarships.Please be sure you meet the following requirements:- Must be a varsity student-athlete (participated in a varsity sport during senior year)- Must attend a Denver metro area public school or private school- Must have minimum GPA of 3.0- Scholarship chosen based on academics, athletics, community involvement (financial need also considered)- Must be used towards tuition at a four-year university

T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood Scholarship Program

This program, as part of Florida States Teacher Education and Compensation Helps (TEACH) Program, works to link training, compensation, and commitment to improving the quality of early childhood care and education experiences for young children and their families by providing scholarships for early childhood caregivers and center directors to work toward earning an AS degree in early childhood education, a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, a Florida state credential, or a director credential. Eligible applicants must be Florida residents who have a high school diploma or GED and who work in a licensed or license-exempt early child care facility, in a licensed or registered family child care home, or in a licenses after-school program. Applicants must also work a minimum of 20 hours per week in a classroom with a birth-through-pre-K population (or in a licensed after-school program), for a minimum of 520 hours per year. Scholarships are intended to cover the majority of the cost of tuition and books, a per-semester stipend for travel or internet access (for most participants), a bonus for caregivers and directors who complete their contract, counseling and administrative support, and reimbursement to early childhood programs or family child care homes for release time given to participants.

NEWH Sunshine Chapter Scholarship

William G. Selby and Marie Selby Foundation Scholarship

Giving limited to Charlotte, DeSoto, Manatee, and Sarasota counties, FL. Selby Scholarship application will open January to April each year. Mr. and Mrs. Selby were very interested in helping local students with limited financial means pursue a higher education, with the goal of not only achieving a meaningful career but also of helping their community. Today, “Selby Scholars” are undergraduate students with exceptional potential who embrace Mr. and Mrs. Selby’s values of leadership and service. Scholarships will be awarded up to $7,000 per year, not to exceed one-third of the individual’s financial need. These awards are renewable, with certain requirements, for the four years the student is enrolled full-time at an accredited college or university. Scholarship Eligibility Criteria Like all of our funding, this scholarship program is only available to residents of Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte or DeSoto counties. Applicants must be either: 1) Graduating seniors from any high school in those 4 counties; or 2) Graduating Associate degree students from any state college in those 4 counties (SCF, Edison, or S. FL Community College) All applicants must be planning to pursue a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university on a full-time basis. Students who are already in college, or those planning to pursue a 2-year degree are not eligible. Green Law Firm Nursing Home & Elderly Care

Attorney Bill Green and his team at Green Law Firm are committed to improving the quality of care in nursing homes. With over 26 years of experience serving the community and many years fighting against low standards of elderly care, Bill is dedicated to promoting passionate students who are focused on making care homes a ‘home’ for our senior population. We are pleased to be offering a $1500 nursing scholarship to high-achieving students who are committed to elderly care and pursuing a baccalaureate degree in nursing. Our hope is to further their professional development and continued competence, allowing them to improve the quality of life for seniors at nursing homes. Applicants will be judged on the content of their application, the essay they provide and on their academic merits. Embry-Riddle Aeronautical Univ/SAE Engineering Sch

Incoming freshmen pursuing a degree in the College of Engineering are eligible. Requirements include a 1300 SAT or 30 ACT, a 3.5 high school GPA and involvement in high school activities. One $12,000 scholarship will be awarded at $3,000 per year for four years. A 3.0 GPA must be maintained.

Future Mechanic Grant

Trade School Future is an organization dedicated to helping future mechanics reach their full potential. Our country needs skilled automotive workers and we want to help. Each semester, we’ll be awarding grants of various amounts to students who plan on attending a trade or vocational school with the aim of becoming a mechanic. This scholarship is open to any prospective student in the United States who plans to enroll in a trade or vocational school, 2 or 4 year university, accredited community college or other automotive higher education institution within the next 12 months. The applicant must complete a short essay (500 words or less) detailing why they are pursuing an automotive degree. The applicant must provide a phone number and email address for correspondence about the grant award selection process. The Future Mechanic Grant for the Fall/Winter Semester is a one-time financial gift of $1,000. The grant will be awarded to the applicant who best answers the application criteria, including the short essay. The award funds may be applied to any expenses associated with pursuing an automotive degree or certification. This is a one-time financial gift and does not need to be paid back to Trade School Future.

Drone Technology College Scholarship

The Drone Technology College Scholarship will be awarded to current U.S. college or university undergraduates who demonstrate an interest in pushing the drone industry forward, as demonstrated in an essay of 750-1,000 words. Successful applicants will write thorough, thoughtful essays that dive deeply into the topic, and will have a strong letter of support. Two awards of $1,000 each will be given.

William B. Howell Memorial Scholarship

The purpose for this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to those individuals interested in pursuing a career in welding. Eligibility The William B. Howell Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a full-time undergraduate student pursuing a minimum four-year degree in a welding program at an accredited university. All applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements. Applicant must be a minimum of eighteen years of age. Applicant must have a minimum high school diploma. Applicant must have a minimum 2.5 overall grade point average. Student may be enrolled full or part time. Proof of financial need is required to qualify. Applicant must submit all required application information. Applicant must be a citizen of the United States and plan to attend an academic institution located within the United States. Priority will be given to those individuals residing or attending school in the states of Florida, Michigan and Ohio. (A resident is defined as having lived in the specific area for a minimum of one year.) Applicants may reapply; however, persons who have received this award may reapply and may be granted the award for a maximum of four years. The award will be presented to individuals nationwide. Applicant does not have to be a member of the American Welding Society. The AWS Foundation does not discriminate by age, race, color, national origin, disability, creed, or gender. Selection Applicant will be chosen by the Named Scholarship Selection Committee comprised of five (5) members, which have been selected by the National Educational Scholarship Committee. Selection committee will determine award recipient in February of each year. Recipient will be announced at the National Awards Luncheon Awards One $2,500 award will be given annually. No awards will be paid directly to the recipient. All awards will be paid directly to the academic institution by the AWS Foundation.

APIASF/United Health Foundation Scholarship

Minimum Eligibility Criteria Be of Asian and/or Pacific Islander ethnicity as defined by the U.S. Census Be a citizen, national, or legal permanent resident of the United States. Citizens of the Republic of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia and the Republic of Palau are also eligible to apply Be enrolling in a U.S. accredited college or university in the Fall. Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale (unweighted) or have earned a GED Must apply for federal financial aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by February 15 Submit one letter of recommendation online. Plan to pursue a degree that will lead to a career in the health field. Scholarship recipients must be majoring in a health field to receive renewal scholarships Demonstrate the intent to work in an underserved community Preference for students fluent in an Asian or Pacific Islander language Students must reside in the following states: AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, HI, KS, MN, NC, NM, NV, NY, TN, TX, WA or WI Preference for students who intend to transfer from a 2-year to a 4-year institution Enrolling as a full-time, degree-seeking, first-year student in the upcoming academic year
